Jeff Rubin, an internationally respected economist, had an interesting article on NPR the other day. It was promoting his new book about oil production going down. "Peak Oil" Very interesting. Ultimately, it means more mass transit and the need for more public support for it. Here is a link to the article.

This link goes to an article about the new deal China has struck with Siemens for 1,000 high speed trains. Imagine what would happen if the US started pushing all types of transit as aggressively as China!

Here are a couple of french transit ads I really like. These ads are clever, and they don't just talk about saving gas. They get you to like the idea of transit.... even if it is being eaten or you are being tossed out of the train!

It is possible to plan better communities around transit. This is a great article about a community in Germany that is thriving without the use of cars.
