Here is an interesting post on the Politics of Madison, WI. concerning transit. I went to the University there, so I've got a personal connection to the town. Good to see that they are thinking of these things!

Enmotion Producer Does Good
Raub Shapiro, Enmotion's executive producer, conceived of this spot with Robert Reich and produced it to boot. It was the most popular political hit on Youtube for the week!

NYT Editorial in Support of High Speed Rail
Here is a great editorial which emphasizes the need for funding for high speed rail in this country..... and a commitment. I am a firm believer in this and what it can do to transform our national infrastructure and aid our economy. Bravo to some positive though taking place in the US!

Detroit Support for Transit
Here is an obvious line of support coming for mass transit out of Detroit, with support from the likes of Biden. I'm in Milwaukee at the moment and there is quite a bit of hubub about the proposed rail line / streetcar line here.

Interesting Article About Oil Production
Jeff Rubin, an internationally respected economist, had an interesting article on NPR the other day. It was promoting his new book about oil production going down. "Peak Oil" Very interesting. Ultimately, it means more mass transit and the need for more public support for it. Here is a link to the article.

Government Money Spent Properly!
http://seekingalpha.com/article/138584-china-inks-deal-with-siemens-for-world-s-largest-high-speed-rail-network
This link goes to an article about the new deal China has struck with Siemens for 1,000 high speed trains. Imagine what would happen if the US started pushing all types of transit as aggressively as China!
Great French Train Ads
Here are a couple of french transit ads I really like. These ads are clever, and they don't just talk about saving gas. They get you to like the idea of transit.... even if it is being eaten or you are being tossed out of the train!

We Can Plan
It is possible to plan better communities around transit. This is a great article about a community in Germany that is thriving without the use of cars.
